The culmination of two years of work by our dedicated partners, the SASMI Plan outlines key strategies, objectives and actions to achieve our goal to enhance the long-term abundance, health, and resilience of the approximately 1 million acres of salt marshes within the South Atlantic states to ensure no overall loss of the benefits these wetlands provide to fish, wildlife and people.

State Roadmaps

Implementation teams led by a state-based organization and comprised of local, state, and federal partners worked together with communities and key stakeholder groups to develop action-oriented roadmaps for each of the SASMI states. The roadmaps identify and prioritize the objectives, actions, focus areas, pathways, and partners needed to implement the regional SASMI plan at the state level. Implementation of the roadmaps will 1) prioritize and support effective deployment of resources to advance SASMI actions, 2) track and demonstrate progress, and 3) support and deepen collaboration, coordination, and engagement across the SASMI geography.
